  • Item 1 Notice of General Meeting
  • Item 2 October Run/Walk Handicap Campbell Rise
  • Item 3 Vetrunner
1. Notice of General Meeting
An ACTVAC General Meeting will be held commencing at approximately 10:15 am on Sunday, 28 October 2012, following the October Run / Walk Handicap at Campbell Park.
The sole purpose of the meeting will be to consider nominations for the vacant position of Secretary. Paul Archer has been acting in this role and has now nominated formally to fill the position until the next AGM. Any other member wishing to stand for this position should contact the President or nominate on the day of the meeting. - Authorised by Brett Kingston, President. 30 September 2012.

2. October Run/Walk Handicap - Campbell Rise
The October Handicap – ‘Campbell Rise’ - will be held in the Mt Ainslie Nature Reserve with the start/finish close to the north-east corner of the Campbell Park Offices carpark.  This start/finish area was used for many years for the Campbell Park handicap.  Both the short and long courses will be out-and-back and will be 4k and 8k respectively.  Both courses will follow the old Campbell Park courses over a horse stile and along the eastern fence line.  After intersecting the long straight dirt road that heads roughly north-south, the long course turns left and climbs continuously for over 1.5k to the south.  It was this climb that suggested an appropriate name for the event.  The long course turnaround will be in the vicinity of the highest point on that road.  The start time will be 09:00am.

3. Vetrunner
The position of Editor of Vetrunner is still open. If no response is received in the next week or so then Vetrunner will NOT continue past the November issue.

If you can organise your time well please consider putting your hand up for this position. Cheat sheets (instructions), ready-made MS Publisher templates and a contact list will assist you along the way.

Time is quickly running out if this publication is to continue past the November 2012 issue. I will be starting to put together my LAST edition of Vetrunner in the next couple of weeks.

Please contact Narelle Blackaby for further information at
vetrunner@actvac.com. All training will be provided.
