prolific medallist

Gary "Griffin" Bowen with yet another Frylink series medal.

Gary ran a big pb in the Vets half marathon, including a 10k pb under 43 minutes on the way.
But in training on Monday, the next day after the race, he was still up there with the best of them (well, up with Chinup Charlie anyway). Whereas some of us could hardly move. So I say he is Team Moore's secret weapon for the CTFR - coming straight from a ball to the run, he won't have had time to sober up - so he could run really well! Go go green shoes!

  3. Katie, thanks for those kind words, you're mainly the reason why I am doing quite well this year !

Another reason is the excellent training provided by none other than speedygeoff, thanks mate !

I wasn't sure if there was to be any training at the track, so I ran home from the AIS at 4.15pm, which was lucky, because not long after that I was in the Maternity Ward at Calvary Hospital seeing my first grandson come into the world.

His name is Bailie Jay Bowen, and was 7 lb at birth, which occured at 8.21 pm 01 Sep 05.

Mother Father and baby are all doing well...

    Yours in Running Writing

    Gary (GRIFFIN) Bowen

And we have number nine grandchild due in a couple of weeks too - that will make it 5:4 one way or the other!

  5. Wow Gary, I didn't even know you were expecting - Congratulations - Do you think Bailie might slow you down a bit (not a chance!!). Great name. How is it I cop the blame for making you run so fast - I've been trying to slow you down for months.
