Speedygeese Christmas get-togethers are always fun times, and this time was no exception as we got together at my local restaurant, PB-02 at Holt, who opened just for us and which we filled to capacity. For the record, those who were there were Ruth and Dave, Shiree, Thach, Warrick and Thomas, David, Christopher, Sandeep and Kavita, Bron and Dom, Geoff and Kathy, Jennie and George, Jen and Isaac, Ewen, Brendan and Jo, Bronwyn, Narelle and Graeme, Pieta, Janene and Gregg, Miranda and Andy, Jinny, and Jenny and me. The Indian food was great, supplemented as is traditional with Caramello Koalas as shown in this photo of Janene's:
Everyone behaved themselves especially the three boys who got special mentions and chocolate as each one is a champion in his own field; Thomas on the stage; Dom at gymnastics, and Isaac out running.
For those who will be joining us for training sooner or later, here's where we are for the rest of this year:
Mondays at Parliament House -
11 December intervals
18 December random hill runs (weather and security permitting)
25 December REST DAY (merry Christmas)
1 January REST DAY (happy new year)
8 January We're back!
Sunday morning trail runs: there's always something on, details become available each week.
Thursdays at Woden:
7 December A run and a few sprints
14 December A few intervals.
That's it for Woden!
Thursdays at Stromlo Forest Park
21 December some longish hill reps
28 December middle distance intervals
Thursdays will continue at Stromlo in the new year, meeting at the usual time of 5:30pm.
We will continue there until daylight saving ends, 1 April, then we will review where to go.
Advantages of Stromlo:
The soft, undulating grass cross country track.
Many training options, course marked every 100m
Changing room and showers on hand.
Large, free car parking area.
Security in numbers with the many cyclists using the facilities
Just remember to bring plenty to drink, a hat, and sunscreen! See you there.
