Monday's training

Monday's training at Parliament House was cold and wet - we were girt by rain. And it was the long weekend, so we didn't expect the 13 people who turned up. We ran our usual hill interval session despite the rain getting heavier and heavier during the half hour of effort. The session consists of 6 repetitions of a course of about 637 metres, run on 5 minutes. The course itself starts at the bottom of a steep climb, goes up, circles back around, up and around again, then finishes by climbing the hill a third time. Then runners jog down the hill ready for the next 5 minute interval to arrive. Even with the rain, neither uphill nor downhill was slippery, although visibility in the dark wasn't the best.

David Webster is running these sessions particularly well, as is Colin Farlow, Trevor Cobbold, and Katie Forestier, all of whom appear to be improving.
