This week's plans

With the weather slowly improving as the final weeks of a cold Canberra winter pass by, it should be more pleasant for running this week.
Last week my goal was 95k and I ended up running 100k, keeping to my plan every day except Wednesday when I ran an extra 5k.
This week my goal is 90k. Where I meet people will be:
Monday: 4:30pm early run at Parliament House; 5:30pm the main training session
Wednesday: 12:15pm BBQ Stakes
Thursday: 3:50pm long run at Dickson; 5:30pm the main training session
Saturday: 1pm DUNROSSIL DRIVE 4.2k race

For the last few weeks my weight has stabilised at 65kg, which is an improvement. Sometime in the next few weeks I hope to bring it down to 64kg.

I plan to run the Vets Half Marathon this month, but not flat out. The serious test of my improvement if any will be the Mt Taylor 4km handicap race on 30 August.

An old track photo. I hope to get meaner and leaner than this.

  1. Hasn't the weather been gorgeous for running Geoff!

  2. Sure is good weather. I had a great 20k run in the Saturday sunshine.

  3. What about the Nike Lunar? Flash Drake used them to beat his age (60 minutes) in the City to Surf - they must have been comfy on the concrete downhills.

  4. So if you are doing 100 km at the start of your marathon campaign, what will you be doing when you get into the really meaty part??!!

  5. Here is my planned build-up for the first 13 weeks: 95k, 90, 100, 90, 105, 95, 110, 100, 115, 110, 120, 110, 120. Then I hope to hold it in the 110-130 range through to the marathon. I thought I might need to build up to maximum before summer heat is a problem.

  6. The luna trainers look ideal. The luna racers look too light, not enough cushioning for my current needs. I have been contemplating trying zoom marathoners first. I will see what is available here.
