Posted by speedygeoff on Friday, November 11, 2005 with 10 comments
Colin and Amanda's baby arrived this morning! It's a boy! No more details available yet!
Yay! A first for Team Moore, a real babe!

Amanda looked pretty good at the track last night, and we noticed she didn't go in the walk this week! Now we know why!

Congratulations guys.

  1. Wow - How did that happen - Didn't you guys have 4 weeks to go - That is such fantastic news - CONGRATULATIONS - In 30 more years he will be a Vet!!

You were just sitting there chatting to us like a normal person last night Amanda - not like a woman about to go into labour - hope it was a quick speedy delivery - what else would we expect from you two!!!!

Just as well you didn't stay for the Medley relay Col :0)

  2. Congrats Amanda and Colin.

    Talk about Vets being tough.

  3. That's great news! Congratulations Amanda and Colin. Is the jogger stroller ready to go? Will you be running at Parly House on Monday Amanda? Are we getting pics on the blog Geoff?

That's about all I have time for - Survivor is about to start!

  4. I still don't know the name but he was born at John James at 8:49am. Amanda did not take long! We might have to call her "Speedy Amanda" from now on. Quicker than Colin could say "I just ran 10k". Boy just under 6 lbs, so, again, not quite his dad's weight.

  5. p.p.s. Alice Scott had a grand daughter this morning... 12:03am. I can see names like NED and GOUGHINA being popular.....(It's 11/11, remember?)

  6. I keep thinking of things to post! 11/11 is shared by two other Team Moore members - happy birthday to John Alcock (60 today) and Jill Pearson (48 today)!

  7. Congrats to Colin and Amanda - well done guys!

  8. Just got back from Sydney, jumped straight on to speedygeoffs blog.. and got a fantastic surprise !!!

    "It's a boy!"

Great news for a Great couple !

Was talking to my mum (Jill) who saw Colin at John James last night, and she said the was absolutely over the moon.
    Maybe he'll relate to this
My favourite author Max Barry has also just had a child and he posted a blog about how much he adores his little girl.
    An excerpt from his post:

When I’m carrying her down the street, I expect everyone I pass to drop to their knees and cry, “Dear God, that’s the most beautiful child I’ve ever seen! Please, tell me how I can join the religion that you must be founding to worship her!” If they don’t, I get a little miffed.

I wonder if Colin feels the same way :-)

Thankyou Amanda & Colin for having your baby at John James. It was a real delight to catch up with you both during Saturday and Sunday night, and a special treat to interact with Amanda while breastfeeding their beautiful son. I'm sure Colin has grown a few centimetres. Maybe it's because he's floating on cloud nine. Congratulations
