Call for volunteers to Australian Running Festival
As previously announced, the YMCA of Canberra Runners Club will have a strategic partnership agreement with Fairfax Events for the conduct of its Australian Running Festival, including the Canberra Times Canberra Marathon, on the weekend of 9 and 10 April. The club has agreed to supply of a large number of volunteers for the two-day festival and to contribute local expertise to the management team. Fairfax Events will have overall management responsibility. Apart from receiving a dividend that the partnership agreement will define, the club’s involvement will ensure that Canberra retains a viable autumn marathon event, maintaining a long tradition.
As the event is now drawing near, I invite you to offer your services to help stage the inaugural Australian Running Festival and make it a success. Please follow the attached website link to submit your details and to indicate your availability for on either Saturday 9 April (5k and 10k fun runs) or Sunday 10 April (Marathon, Half Marathon and Ultra-marathon), or both. http://www.canberrarunner.com.au/index.php?module=Special&action=volunteer.
Thank you in anticipation of your support. This is an important challenge for our new club to meet.
