alive for another day

Happy Birthday Charlie McCormack, 47 today! I hope you celebrate in style.

Today's run at Acton Ferry Terminal wasn't too bad, we had a cloud cover and it even felt cool early on. Susan ran 5k, Ann ran 12k, Miranda about 19k, while Suzie, Andy, Zainab & I completed 22k. Didn't see Ewen or Ruth, did they sleep in? Did see Katherine, Liz, Bronia, many others. At the 16k mark, I even managed a set of six chin-ups, a recent record. And the 22k felt like a short run, which is a very good sign.

The general problem
Two users report that comments don't work for them in this blog. Anyone else? I suspect they may be using old versions of Internet Explorer, but I don't really know. I suggest they try Chrome on their PCs and tell me if that fixes it, which will be a help in working out what the problem is. So If you too cannot access comments, please let me know. I may end up reverting to pop-up window (hopefully not losing existing threaded comments, except they won't be threaded any more) or reverting to the basic threaded format blogger provided, which was not all that attractive looking but seemed to work for everyone, I think, after just one bug-fix by me.

  1. No,we didn't sleep in. Started on trails on Mt Ainslie and on to wetlands. Ewen ran 15k and I ran 30km. Just needed a bit of off-road for a change:)Comments seem to work fine for me!

    1. Well done Strewth. It got a bit humid after a while today. I don't mind Mt Ainslie for a change but the lake paths are more marathon-specific. Having said that I always ran Cotter 32 years ago when serious marathon training. Don't tell you-know-who.

    1. My tip is to get rid of word verification. Makes commenting much faster and easier without it. Also Blogger's spam detection automatically blocks 99% of all spam comments anyway, so word verification just deters commentors (if they miss-type the word for instance) or confuses them.

    3. Should be off now. I had to go into "old blogger interface" to do it. Hah!

    4. Yes, on small screen devices one can miss the word verification word and think one has commented when one has not.

  3. Yes, soft surface option and easier pace was a more attractive proposition.

  4. Serious is the right word in there. I'm backing you Speedygeoff now to kick Strewth's butt in the ultra to marathon time challenge. Should be easy Speedygeoff especially if the weather is unkind on the day. All the way with Speedygeoff

    1. That's not kind Mr Apples. He doesn't need backing. He'll thrash me (metaphorically speaking of course)!!

  5. He won't Strewth if you lift your game & training plan. That needs to start now. I'll look again in mid Feb.

    1. Yes, her dedication to a lifted game needs to match her dedication to good coffee. And I'm literally getting thrashed every Thursday night at the track!
