George William Moore 15/03/1924 - 31/08/2005

My father passed away at 11:20pm last night. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". He died peacefully in his sleep. Jenny and I will be away in Adelaide for a few days for the funeral.

  1. My condolences - hope all goes well.

  2. So sorry to hear about the death of your father Geoff. I hope you are ok.
It sounds like he had a long & fulfilling life though. What more can we ask. May he rest in peace.
Still , it doesn't stop us missing them. I lost my Dad about 10 years ago now and I still miss him.

  3. Kev and Vicki01 September, 2005

Sorry to hear about your dad, Geoff. Thinking of you Kev and Vic.

  4. Words can not replace the sorrow you must have in your heart...

However I hope that these few words may help ease the pain...

You will embark on a fair sea, and at times there will be fair weather, but not always.

You will meet storms and overcome them.

You will take it in turns to steer your boat through fair weather and foul.

    Never lose courage.

Safe harbour awaits the end !

My thoughts are with you and Jenny and the rest of the family, and I hope that you are all okay !

  7. Sorry to hear about your dad Geoff. Although you will miss him deeply you will have some wonderful memories and they will stay with you forever. Thinking of you and your family.

  8. That was a shock Geoff. What can I say? I'm hopeless at times like this. My sympathies are with you and Jenny. Stay strong. Thanks for those words Gary.

  9. My thanks to you all. Jenny and I have now decided we will probably set off for Adelaide early afternoon Friday 2nd, and be back around Wednesday 14th. Our two daughters are flying over for a few days (each bringing just their four month old daughters), and our son may be able to fly in for the day on Tuesday for the funeral. Of course there are other family already in Adelaide. We will be staying with my mother at Elizabeth. I will in all likelihood stay in touch via this weblog.

  10. My thoughts are with you Geoff. Good on him for having such a wonderful son! :)

  11. Geoff

    Please accept my condolences.
It is a sad time for all, trust you will find comfort from and with, the rest of your family.
