Where we train

Posted by speedygeoff on Monday, January 31, 2005 with 1 comment
Summer training – where I train and meet people.

Mondays 5:30 pm Salkauskas Crescent North Lyneham (main group training session)
Tuesdays 9:00 am Black Mountain Peninsula (long run with the Vets)
Wednesdays 5:30 pm Biffin Street Cook Oval athletic track (interval session and stretching)
Thursdays 6:30 pm AIS Athletic Track (Vets competition)
Fridays AIS pool recovery swim, various times.
Saturdays 12 noon Biffin Street Cook Oval athletic track (interval session and stretching)
Sundays various venues long run (by arrangement each week)

Cancellations? All runs always go ahead rain hail or shine with the possible exception of Thursday's comp, in which case a decision is made by 5:00pm and announced after that on ABC AM radio, 666. The usual reason given for cancelling Vets track is lightning danger, which has occurred twice now with the strange tropical weather we have experienced this summer.

  1. Geoff, congraulations on a great initiative and great site. Oh what a feeling!! I'm sure that it will be inspirational, with consequent aspirational outcomes. Another dividend for me is that I may learn how blogs work. Until now (..and counting..) they have been a mystery to me and left me flummoxed. So 'Moore go - Moore good'. On a personal note I got a killer 'flu on 16 Jan that was totally enervating, so I was pleased to see that I managed 5.09 per k in the heat and humidity of last Sunday. Peter McNamara was partially responsible, as he led me down the goat track to the finish and provided the incentive to get there that much more quickly. I looovve that final 50 metres of any distance. Here's to the Six Foot Track, which I plan to attempt for the first time in March.
